BC NEWS --Volume 11                                                                                                  Issue 33

September 27, 2006

Proverbs 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Over the past three months the Children’s Ministry Commission has to accomplish the following tasks:

-Realignment of Leadership Team as follows:

Kristi Weimer:               Coordinator of Children’s Ministries (Kindergarten – 5th grade)

(includes Sunday School, VBS and Big Events)

Christy Aldrich:              Coordinator of Early Childhood Ministries (Birth – Preschool)

Gina Fast:                     Coordinator of Children’s Church

Jeanette Meis:               Coordinator of Kids Klub

-Implemented new policies for the drop-off and pick-up of children that will keep our children safe and the parents will know where their children are at all times, including keeping the preschool children on the main level of the church during both the church and Sunday school hours

-Purchased new storage cabinets and reorganized the downstairs rooms for better access to and coordination of the various programs using these areas

-Implemented new curriculum for the Children’s Church hour called “Bible Blitz”

-Began planning for the Harvest Festival (“Heroes Unleashed”), and a Children’s Christmas Program

-Encouraged all of our children’s workers to teach and instill a respect between the children, between the children and the adults, and for our church which includes how children are picked up at the end of Sunday school and Kids Club

-Established and are providing guidelines for use of classroom space and keeping our church ready and prepared for use each day

Our goal through all of these efforts is to love every child who enters the church unconditionally. To provide a safe, secure environment in which they can come to a saving knowledge of Christ and grow in their walk with Him.

Thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve our Lord in this way.  And thank you to the volunteers who on a weekly basis dedicate themselves to God’s chosen children!

MISSIONS CORNER

From Wataru and Heidi Minezaki with the Navigators in Japan.

Praise for contact with a stranger on the way to Taiwan. They were able to sing happy birthday to the girl and share Jesus with them. Later they received a letter from her boyfriend thanking them. In part the letter said, "I felt you approached us with a caring heart. I also sensed that you always speak to people with love. Thank you very much. Since your job does not leave anything tangible but only leaves something intangible in people's hearts, I assume that there are a lot of difficulties involved.

Nevertheless, please continue to meet people with your caring hearts and love. Your warmth can reach people's hearts deep inside, even in a small encounter like ours. We would like to meet you again if the opportunity rises."

Praise for new contacts being made daily with the Japanese people. Praise for networking with other ministries who are working with house churches and returnees.

Pray for new direction for ministry, a new youth leader for the church, more contact with Wataru's family, and starting a new small group.
