BC NEWS --Volume 11                                                                                                  Issue 30

August 30, 2006

Ladies of Bethel:

This one’s for you! Bethel Women’s Ministry is very excited at what this year holds. My prayer in writing this week’s column is that you will catch a glimpse of our passion and truly desire to be a part. We want you connected! Our theme for the year is:

Hands to Service—Hearts to God

Our aim is to connect women with each other, to provide opportunities to serve and to offer events that encourage intimate and active relationships with Jesus Christ.

Some Fall events to look forward to:

  • September 9, at 10am, we will be learning how to mentor younger women. If you have any interest at all, please join us. This does not commit you to anything; however, it will inform you, equip you and hopefully whet your appetite for how you can make a difference in someone’s life. Breakfast will be served. Jacque Ver Straten is our teacher and encourager. Cost is $5.00.
  • Service Project: October 7th. We will be painting the Fellowship Hall. FINALLY! Colors have been chosen. All we have to do is come. This will be a day of work but also great fun! In the process, we may learn the fine art of faux painting. Please plan on joining us in “spicing up” that well used (aka. ugly) room. Cost is free. J
  • Pumpkin Patch Boogie, October 21st. Another opportunity to serve…only this ministers outside of Bethel. Our women will be providing chili again this year. This is a great way to serve alongside the Pregnancy Resource Center as they reach out to our community.
  • Thursday morning Bible Study begins September 7th. We will be offering 3 different studies: A Mom After God’s Own Heart

A Study of  Mark: Then and Now

          Calm My Anxious Heart (Contentment)

If you are available, please join us. Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 am.

Cost is $12.00

  • Wednesday night Bible Study begins September 13th. We’ll be learning from the book “Your God is Too Safe”. This group prays for each other & genuinely cares for each other. You would love this group of women! Please come! Cost is $11.00

Our goal this year is to include you! You are important to us! Please join us for any or all of these events. We want to get to know you better. And we definitely would love the opportunity to encourage you in your faith and you encourage us in ours! Be watching the newsletter for information updates on these events.

Men: if you read this, J please encourage your wives to join us. We would love to have them.

MISSIONS CORNER

From Dan & Melinda Nelson: Missionaries returning to Guadalajara, Mexico.

We praise God that…He has provided the needed monthly and outgoing support.  He provided a full size van for our trip down to Mexico.  Safely in all of our travels the past 2 years.

Please pray that… the Lord would lead us to a house to rent.  Our religious visas would come in quickly so we can return to the USA for our household furniture.  That the children will adjust quickly to their new school.
